Motor City Beat is a dynamic, high energy, rhythm and blues and Motown band, ranging from 3 to 10 pieces, depending on the engagement and budget.  Band leader Louis Johnson (piano, sax, flute & vocals) is joined by “Motown Larry Walton” on bass, Sandy Love (Guitar, trumpet & vocals) and Carl Graves on drums.  Lead vocalists Lindsey Longmire and Aivey Lee are frequent guests and we add a horn section and percussionist, as required.  The group is ideal for dance parties and is also comfortable playing cocktail jazz.
